Job title: Registered Nurse, Med Surg/EICU
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical/Extended Intensive Care Unit (Med Surg/EICU) is responsible for providing quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare setting. They will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a critical care environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor and assess patient conditions, providing effective and efficient nursing care.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
3. Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop care plans and ensure proper patient care.
4. Perform procedures such as IV insertions, wound care, and other nursing interventions.
5. Educate patients and their families on their healthcare needs and treatment plans.
6. Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records.
7. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures to ensure patient safety and quality care.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a Med Surg/EICU setting.
3. BLS and ACLS certifications.
4. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
6. Ability to work well in a team environment.
7. Flexibility and adaptability to changing healthcare needs.
