Job Title: Surgical Technician (Scrub Technologist, OR Technologist)
Job Summary:
As a Surgical Technician, you will be responsible for assisting surgeons during surgical procedures by preparing and sterilizing equipment, setting up operating rooms, and ensuring a safe and sterile environment. You will play a critical role in providing support to the surgical team and ensuring efficient and effective patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare operating rooms for surgery by setting up sterile surgical instruments and equipment.
2. Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
3. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
4. Monitor patients during surgery and communicate vital information to the surgical team.
5. Assist in transporting patients to and from the operating room.
6. Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments.
7. Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and supplies used.
8. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and quality care.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of an accredited surgical technology program.
3. Certification as a Surgical Technician (CST) preferred.
4. Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment.
5. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
6. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
7. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a sterile environment.
8. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment.
