Operating Room RN (Circulator Nurse)
Also known as OR Nurse / Circulating Nurse
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Operating Room RN – Circulator to join our surgical services team. As a Circulating Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring patient safety and efficient surgical workflow by managing the operating room environment and supporting the surgical team during procedures.
Serve as the patient advocate during surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety, dignity, and comfort.
Prepare the operating room for surgery by verifying supplies, equipment, and documentation.
Assist the surgical team by circulating non-sterile duties, including positioning, prepping, and monitoring the patient.
Ensure adherence to surgical asepsis and sterile technique throughout the procedure.
Monitor and document patient vital signs, medications, surgical times, and instrument counts.
Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and scrub techs to maintain a safe and efficient surgical environment.
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Respond promptly to emergencies and advocate for changes in surgical plan as needed.
Assist in post-operative transfers and communicate critical updates to recovery teams.
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
Minimum 1 year of OR circulating experience preferred (new grads with clinical rotations in OR may be considered).
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
CNOR certification is a plus (or willing to obtain).
Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
Familiarity with EMR systems and OR equipment.
