We are seeking a dedicated and emotionally resilient Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) team. In this critical role, you will provide specialized care for patients experiencing acute psychiatric crises in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, calm under pressure, and skilled in behavioral health interventions.
Assess, triage, and monitor patients experiencing mental health crises
Administer medications, including psychotropic and emergency interventions
Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and crisis teams to develop care plans
Ensure a safe, therapeutic environment through de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques
Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately
Provide emotional support and education to patients and families
Adhere to legal and ethical standards in psychiatric and emergency care
Current RN license
BLS certification required; CPI or similar crisis intervention certification preferred
1+ years of psychiatric, emergency, or behavioral health nursing experience preferred
Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and effective in high-stress situations
Understanding of trauma-informed care and psychiatric protocols
Play a vital role in stabilizing and supporting patients in mental health crisis
Work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary care environment
