Job Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Obstetrics RN

Job Summary: The Registered Nurse Obstetrics RN will be responsible for providing compassionate and comprehensive care to patients during labor and delivery, postpartum, and neonatal stages, as well as monitoring and assessing maternal and fetal health. This individual must work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Monitor fetal heart rate and contraction patterns during labor

- Administer medications and facilitate pain management for laboring patients

- Perform cervical exams and assist physician during delivery

- Provide education to patients and families regarding prenatal care, breastfeeding, and newborn care

- Conduct postpartum assessments and monitor maternal emotional and physical health

- Help care for infants in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)

- Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records

Qualifications and Skills:

- Current RN license in the state of Maine

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

- Certification in obstetrics nursing (RNC-OB) or neonatal nursing (RNC-NIC) preferred

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in obstetrics nursing

- Strong communication and organizational skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations

- BLS and ACLS certification required
