Surgical Scrub Technician
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Scrub Technician to join our surgical services team. The Scrub Tech will be responsible for assisting surgeons during operations, preparing surgical instruments, maintaining a sterile field, and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available for surgical procedures. This role is vital to ensuring patient safety and supporting surgical teams in delivering high-quality care.
Prepare the operating room with sterile instruments, drapes, and solutions.
Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and supplies during procedures.
Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique and infection control protocols.
Anticipate the needs of surgeons and surgical assistants during operations.
Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures.
Ensure surgical instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and organized.
Assist with the setup and turnover of operating rooms between cases.
Collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesiologists to ensure seamless surgical workflow.
Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
Previous experience as a Scrub Tech in an operating room setting desirable.
Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical procedures, and medical terminology.
Excellent communication, teamwork, and attention to detail.
Ability to stay calm under pressure in fast-paced surgical environments.
Experience in general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, cardiovascular, or other specialties.
Knowledge of advanced sterilization and surgical equipment handling.
