Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU Nurse)
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse to join our surgical services team. The PACU Nurse will provide critical post-operative care for patients recovering from anesthesia after surgical and procedural interventions. This role requires strong clinical judgment, rapid response skills, and the ability to ensure patient safety during the immediate recovery phase.
Monitor patients recovering from anesthesia for vital signs, pain, and complications.
Provide advanced airway management and hemodynamic stabilization as needed.
Administer medications, IV fluids, and oxygen therapy per physician orders.
Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care and discharge instructions.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams for coordinated care.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR).
Adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in [State].
Minimum 1–2 years of acute care or critical care nursing experience required (PACU/ICU/ER preferred).
Current BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS preferred.
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills.
Experience in post-anesthesia or surgical recovery settings.
Ability to manage emergency situations and rapid patient deterioration.
Excellent communication and teamwork in high-pressure environments.
