Registered Nurse (Break RN)
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Break RN, providing coverage and continuous patient care when primary nurses are on scheduled breaks or attending to unit needs. The Break RN ensures patient safety, supports team efficiency, and maintains consistent standards of care throughout the shift.
Provide temporary patient care coverage for assigned nurses during breaks and lunches.
Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform essential nursing duties during coverage periods.
Communicate effectively with primary nurses regarding patient status and care needs before and after handoff.
Support overall unit workflow and assist in managing patient flow as needed.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation during coverage intervals.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote quality patient outcomes.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
1+ years of acute care, med-surg, or telemetry experience preferred.
Strong multitasking, assessment, and communication skills.
Ability to adapt quickly to different patient assignments and unit needs.
Hospital inpatient units (e.g., Med-Surg, Telemetry, ICU step-down).
Collaborative, team-oriented setting.
Shift-based position with flexible scheduling and coverage rotations.
