RN Infusion Oncology Nurse
The RN Infusion Oncology Nurse provides compassionate and specialized nursing care to patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood transfusions, and other oncology-related infusions. This role requires exceptional clinical expertise, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort.
You will work closely with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe medication administration, manage side effects, and provide education to patients and families throughout their treatment journey.
Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive infusions in compliance with oncology protocols.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond promptly to emergencies.
Educate patients and families about treatment plans, potential side effects, and home care instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Collaborate with oncologists and pharmacy to ensure safe medication handling and dosage verification.
Participate in quality improvement, infection control, and safety initiatives.
Provide emotional support and compassionate communication to patients facing cancer treatment.
Registered Nurse (RN) with an active state license.
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred or willingness to obtain.
Minimum 2 years of experience in oncology or infusion therapy.
Strong IV insertion and venous access device management skills (e.g., ports, PICCs).
Expertise in chemotherapy administration and infusion therapy.
Exceptional patient assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Empathetic communication and patient advocacy.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, emotionally demanding environment.
