A Clinical Dietitian is responsible for assessing patients’ nutritional needs, developing personalized diet plans, and providing medical nutrition therapy to support recovery, disease management, and overall health. This role collaborates with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based nutritional care.
Conduct nutritional assessments for patients based on medical conditions and dietary needs.
Develop individualized nutrition care plans (NCP) for inpatient and outpatient settings.
Provide medical nutrition therapy for chronic illnesses such as diabetes, kidney disease, cardiac issues, GI disorders, and malnutrition.
Monitor patient progress and adjust diet plans as needed.
Educate patients and families on healthy eating habits and disease-specific diets.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, speech therapists, and other healthcare specialists.
Document nutritional interventions accurately in EMR systems.
Participate in quality improvement and clinical nutrition programs.
Ensure compliance with hospital standards, clinical protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
Completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship (DI).
Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential preferred.
Experience in clinical or hospital settings strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets and nutrition-related diseases.
Excellent communication, counseling, and assessment skills.
