RN Unit Manager (Registered Nurse – Unit Manager)

Job Summary:

The RN Unit Manager is responsible for overseeing daily nursing operations within a healthcare unit. This role ensures high-quality patient care, staff supervision, compliance with healthcare standards, and efficient unit management. The RN Unit Manager provides clinical leadership, supports nursing staff, and promotes a safe, patient-centered environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage nursing staff on the assigned unit

  • Ensure high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care

  • Develop and maintain staff schedules

  • Monitor patient outcomes and clinical performance

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations

  • Provide staff training, coaching, and performance evaluations

  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and healthcare teams

  • Manage unit operations, supplies, and equipment

  • Address patient and family concerns professionally

  • Support quality improvement and safety initiatives


Required Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience

  • Strong clinical and decision-making skills

  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities

  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and patient safety standards
