Job Title: Nursing Manager/Director - Nursing Manager (Surgery)
Job Summary:
The Nursing Manager/Director is responsible for overseeing the nursing staff in the surgical department, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. They will also be responsible for coordinating with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Supervise and manage nursing staff in the surgical department.
2. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
3. Monitor patient outcomes and make recommendations for improvements.
4. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
5. Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff to promote a positive work environment.
6. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care.
7. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to nursing staff.
8. Develop and implement training programs for nursing staff.
9. Manage staffing levels and schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
10. Handle patient complaints and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in nursing, Master's degree preferred.
2. Current RN license in the state of practice.
3. Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, surgical experience preferred.
4. Previous management experience in a healthcare setting.
5. Strong communication and leadership skills.
6. Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
7. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards of care.
8. CPR certification.
9. Strong problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
