Job Title: Social Worker Emergency Room
Job Summary:
The Social Worker in the Emergency Room provides crisis intervention, psychosocial assessments, and resource referrals to patients and their families in times of crisis or trauma. They work closely with medical staff to ensure holistic care is provided to patients in the emergency room setting.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct psychosocial assessments to determine patient needs and develop care plans.
2. Provide crisis intervention and emotional support to patients and families experiencing trauma or crisis.
3. Collaborate with medical staff to address social and emotional factors impacting patient care.
4. Utilize community resources to provide appropriate referrals for patient support services.
5. Advocate for patient needs and rights within the healthcare system.
6. Document all patient interactions and interventions in a timely and accurate manner.
7. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and care plans.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
2. Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
3. Previous experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in an emergency room.
4. Strong crisis intervention and assessment skills.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
7. Knowledge of community resources and social service agencies.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
