Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Job Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician. They will assist in assessing patient needs, creating care plans, administering medications, and providing basic medical treatments. LPNs will also educate patients and their families on health promotion and disease prevention.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
2. Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team
3. Assist with patient assessments and develop care plans
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
5. Educate patients and families on disease management and self-care techniques
6. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
7. Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
8. Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
9. Provide emotional support to patients and families during difficult times
10. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on nursing practices
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current LPN license in the state of practice
2. Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
5. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
6. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
7. Compassion and empathy for patients
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
