Job Title: Cytotechnologist

Job Summary:

The Cytotechnologist is responsible for conducting microscopic evaluations of cellular samples to detect abnormalities or diseases, primarily focusing on cancerous or precancerous conditions. They play a vital role in identifying abnormalities and assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Perform microscopic examinations of cellular samples, such as Pap smears, to detect abnormalities.

2. Identify and classify abnormal cells based on established criteria and guidelines.

3. Review patient medical histories and collaborate with pathologists to interpret results.

4. Maintain accurate records of findings and ensure timely reporting of results.

5. Assist in quality control and assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.

6. Stay updated on the latest advances in cytology techniques and technologies.

7. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Bachelor's degree in cytotechnology or a related field.

2. Certification as a Cytotechnologist (CT) or eligible for certification.

3. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

4. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Knowledge of laboratory procedures and quality control principles.

7. Ability to adapt to changing work environments and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
