Job Title: Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising laboratory staff, conducting and interpreting complex medical tests, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of laboratory staff, including Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists
- Perform a variety of complex laboratory tests and analyses
- Interpret test results and provide accurate and timely reports to healthcare providers
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control programs
- Maintain accurate records of all laboratory procedures and results
- Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures and protocols
- Train and mentor new laboratory staff
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in medical laboratory science
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Technologist (MT)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory setting
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and quality control procedures
