The Physician Assistant (PA) provides high-quality, patient-centered medical care under the supervision of a licensed physician. The PA conducts physical exams, diagnoses and treats illnesses, orders and interprets tests, performs procedures, and provides patient education and preventive care. This role collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and optimal health outcomes.
Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans
Assist in surgeries or perform minor procedures (based on specialty)
Counsel patients on preventive care, wellness, and chronic disease management
Document care provided in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Maintain licensure and CME requirements in accordance with state and federal regulations
Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
Current PA licensure in [State]
NCCPA certification
BLS and/or ACLS certification (depending on specialty)
1–2+ years of clinical experience preferred (new grads welcome depending on setting)
Strong interpersonal, diagnostic, and clinical skills
