We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to manage and execute tax-related responsibilities across federal, state, and local levels. The ideal candidate will also contribute to broader general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and compliance functions, acting as a Senior Staff Accountant within the accounting team.
Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals
Research complex tax issues and stay current with IRS and state tax regulations
Support income tax provision (ASC 740) calculations and reporting
Assist with audits and respond to tax notices from governmental agencies
Ensure timely filing and payment of estimated tax liabilities
Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes
Perform reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses
Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls
Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, legal, and external tax advisors
Mentor junior accountants and review their work for accuracy
Bachelorโs degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's or CPA preferred)
3โ5 years of tax accounting experience (public accounting or corporate)
Strong understanding of GAAP, IRS codes, and multi-state tax laws
Experience with tax software (e.g., ProSystem, UltraTax, OneSource) and ERP systems
CPA or CPA-track candidates highly preferred
Proficient in Excel and financial modeling
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Experience with international tax or transfer pricing
Familiarity with ASC 740 and deferred tax accounting
Knowledge of sales/use tax and property tax filings
Strong team leadership or review experience
