The Nursing Manager/Director – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) / Vascular is responsible for providing leadership, management, and clinical oversight of cardiovascular and vascular surgical services. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and efficient perioperative care within the cardiovascular and vascular operating suites. The position blends hands-on clinical expertise with strategic operational management to support both staff and patients in a high-acuity surgical environment.
Direct and oversee all aspects of cardiovascular and vascular surgical services, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance.
Supervise and mentor CVOR and vascular nursing teams to ensure clinical excellence and adherence to best practices.
Collaborate with cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and other team members to coordinate patient care.
Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, workflow efficiency, and compliance with hospital policies and accreditation standards.
Lead initiatives in patient safety, infection control, and continuous quality improvement.
Manage resources effectively, ensuring the availability and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment.
Support recruitment, training, and professional development of perioperative staff.
Participate in hospital committees and strategic planning related to surgical services.
Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state regulatory requirements.
Active RN license (state-specific).
BSN required; MSN, MHA, or MBA preferred.
Minimum 5+ years of perioperative nursing experience, with 3+ years in CVOR or vascular surgery.
BLS and ACLS certifications required; CNOR certification preferred.
Proven leadership experience with strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
Hospital or specialized cardiac/vascular surgical center.
Collaborative, fast-paced, high-acuity setting.
Direct supervision of OR nurses, techs, and clinical support staff.
