Behavioral Psych Therapist / Clinical Social Worker (Crisis Behavioral Health Clinician)
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Behavioral Psych Therapist / Clinical Social Worker to join our Crisis Behavioral Health Team. This role focuses on providing mental health assessments, crisis intervention, counseling, and care coordination for individuals experiencing emotional, psychological, or behavioral crises. The clinician will work collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to stabilize acute situations and promote long-term wellness.
Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide crisis intervention and short-term counseling for patients in acute distress.
Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for coordinated care.
Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions as needed.
Assess risk for self-harm, suicide, or violence, and implement safety plans.
Document all clinical interactions and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR).
Provide referrals and coordinate aftercare planning for ongoing mental health support.
Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, team meetings, and staff training.
Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
State licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent).
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in behavioral or mental health settings.
Experience in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and de-escalation techniques.
Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
Experience working with diverse populations and co-occurring disorders.
Ability to remain calm and effective during crisis situations.
Familiarity with community mental health resources and referral systems.
