Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Long Term Care (LTC) provides essential care to elderly or chronically ill patients in a residential or nursing home setting. They assist the nursing staff and ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of residents. The CNA performs various tasks, such as personal hygiene assistance, medication distribution, vital sign monitoring, and emotional support, while ensuring adherence to established healthcare protocols.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, and using the restroom.
- Observe and document residents' vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Administer medication according to care plans and under the supervision of licensed nurses.
- Help residents with mobility issues, including transferring and repositioning in beds or chairs.
- Assist in the serving and feeding of meals, monitoring dietary restrictions, and documenting food intake.
- Provide companionship, engage in meaningful conversation, and offer emotional support to residents.
- Report any changes in residents' health or behavior to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment, ensuring adherence to infection control procedures.
- Assist in the coordination of activities and recreational programs for residents.
- Support the interdisciplinary healthcare team in executing individualized care plans.
- Uphold residents' rights and dignity, ensuring a person-centered approach to care.
- Adhere to all safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in continuing education and training programs as required.

Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and certification.
- Must possess a current CNA license.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient nature.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to dynamic work environments.
- Physical stamina to handle the demands of lifting and moving residents.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
