Job Title: Registered Sonographer
Job Summary:
Our healthcare facility is looking for a Registered Sonographer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and producing high-quality images for interpretation by physicians. As a Registered Sonographer, you will also be required to analyze sonograms, coordinate patient care, and maintain records of examinations performed.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform ultrasound examinations including abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts, and vascular exams
- Prepare patients for exams by explaining the procedure, answering questions, and providing comfort measures
- Coordinate patient care by communicating with other healthcare professionals to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment
- Analyze sonograms to ensure appropriate images are obtained for diagnostic purposes
- Maintain patient records and keep track of all examinations performed
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment
- Ensure all safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality protocols are followed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must be a Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a sonographer
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to operate and maintain ultrasound equipment
- Knowledge of safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality protocols
