Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients who are transitioning from the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to the general medical-surgical floor. You will monitor patients' vital signs, administer medications, collaborate with healthcare team members, and provide support and education to patients and their families.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor and assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, lab results, and symptoms
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatments, and self-care techniques
- Assist with procedures and tests as needed
- Document all patient care activities accurately and timely
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a similar setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
