Job Title: Certified Surgical Tech (CST)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Surgical Tech (CST) to join our surgical team. The CST will be responsible for assisting surgeons during surgeries, ensuring the operating room is safe and sterile, and providing the highest level of care to patients throughout their surgical experience.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for each procedure
2. Assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments and holding retractors
3. Maintain sterile operating room environment throughout procedures
4. Monitor patients' vital signs during surgeries and communicate any changes to the surgical team
5. Prepare and dress surgical incision sites
6. Handle specimens for laboratory analysis
7. Assist with patient positioning and draping
8. Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
9. Maintain accurate patient records
10. Adhere to all hospital policies and protocols
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
2. Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or related field
3. 2+ years of experience working as a CST in a surgical setting
4. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and medical terminology
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
7. Attention to detail and ability to multitask
8. CPR certification
9. Knowledge of sterile technique and infection control practices
10. Ability to work well as part of a team
