Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Obstetrics
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a specialization in Obstetrics to provide high-quality care to expectant mothers and newborns. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the unique needs of pregnant women and the skills necessary to support them throughout pregnancy, labor, and delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor the health and well-being of expectant mothers and their unborn babies
2. Provide prenatal care and education to pregnant women and their families
3. Assist with labor and delivery, including monitoring contractions, administering medication, and providing emotional support
4. Perform postpartum assessments and provide care for new mothers and newborns
5. Educate new parents on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
6. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to create individualized care plans
7. Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for labor and delivery
8. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
9. Stay current on the latest developments in obstetric care and procedures
10. Provide support and guidance to patients and their families throughout the birthing process
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
3. Certification in Obstetric nursing (RNC-OB) highly desirable
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery or Obstetrics
5. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of obstetric care practices
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
8. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
9. Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care
10. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
