Job title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant in a Long Term Care facility, you will be responsible for providing direct care to residents under the supervision of licensed nurses. You will assist residents with activities of daily living, monitor their health and wellness, and provide companionship and emotional support.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assisting residents with personal hygiene tasks, such as bathing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes to the nursing staff
- Assisting with mobility and transferring residents as needed
- Providing emotional support and companionship to residents
- Documenting care provided and residents' progress in electronic medical records
- Following care plans and protocols set by nursing staff
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest quality of care for residents
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of employment
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their families
- Compassion and empathy for elderly and disabled individuals
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions from licensed nurses
- Physical stamina to lift and move residents, as needed
