Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Float, Med Surg
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Float Nurse in the Med Surg department. The Float Nurse will have the opportunity to work in various units within the Med Surg department, providing quality patient care and support to a diverse patient population. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to different work environments.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide direct patient care, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients in the Med Surg department
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist with procedures as needed
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care in electronic medical records
- Provide education and support to patients and their families on treatment plans and self-care strategies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
Qualifications and Skills:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Med Surg setting
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends as needed
