Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Labor & Delivery unit, you will be responsible for providing care to expectant mothers and their newborns during the childbirth process. You will assess the mother and baby's condition, administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assist with any necessary procedures to ensure a safe and healthy delivery.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing and monitoring pregnant women throughout labor
2. Administering medications and pain relief as needed
3. Assisting with the delivery process
4. Providing care for newborns immediately after birth
5. Educating new mothers on breastfeeding and newborn care
6. Collaborating with other healthcare providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for mother and baby
7. Keeping accurate records of patient care and progress
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Graduate of an accredited nursing program
2. Valid RN license in the state of practice
3. BLS certification
4. ACLS certification (preferred)
5. Experience working in Labor & Delivery or Women's Health (preferred)
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
7. Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations
