Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. As an RN in the NICU, you will be responsible for providing specialized care to newborn infants who require intensive medical attention. Your role will involve monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our tiniest patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessing and evaluating patients in the NICU, including monitoring vital signs and providing specialized care
- Administering medications as prescribed by physicians and following guidelines for dosages and administration
- Collaborating with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plans
- Educating parents on how to care for their newborns and providing emotional support during a difficult time
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a NICU setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to patient care
