Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery, you will be responsible for providing care to expectant mothers and their newborn babies during labor and childbirth. You will work closely with obstetricians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and positive birthing experience for both mother and baby.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Monitor fetal heart rates and assess contractions
- Administer medications and pain relief as needed
- Assist with labor induction and surgical procedures such as C-sections
- Educate mothers on breastfeeding and newborn care
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families
- Keep accurate medical records and documentation
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to develop individualized care plans
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Certification in Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) highly desired
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
- Previous experience in Labor & Delivery or Obstetrics is a plus
