Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) - First Assist, OR - Circulate
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team as a First Assist and Circulating Nurse in the operating room. The ideal candidate will assist surgeons during procedures, coordinate patient care, and ensure a safe and sterile environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist surgeons during surgical procedures as a first assist
2. Provide patient care before, during, and after surgery
3. Coordinate with surgical team members to ensure smooth and efficient procedures
4. Maintain sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols
5. Monitor patient vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration
6. Document patient care and communicate with healthcare team members
7. Educate patients and families on post-operative care
8. Handle emergency situations in the operating room
9. Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and address patient needs
10. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. CNOR certification preferred
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in perioperative nursing
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
7. Excellent organizational and time management skills
8. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
9. Knowledge of surgical procedures and equipment
10. Flexibility to work varying shifts and weekends
