Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) provides high quality patient care to individuals with serious cardiac conditions. They work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to monitor and treat patients, manage medications, and assist with various procedures to ensure optimal outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess patients' conditions and develop individualized care plans
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
3. Monitor patients' vital signs and response to treatments
4. Educate patients and their families about their condition and treatment plan
5. Assist with procedures such as catheterization, intubation, and ventilator management
6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care
7. Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records
8. Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
9. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities
10. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care setting, preferably in a CVICU
4. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
7. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
8. Attention to detail and accuracy in patient care documentation
9. Ability to work effectively as part of a team
10. Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care
