Job Title: Technician - Sterile Processing (SPT)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Technician in Sterile Processing (SPT) to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that all medical equipment and instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Sorting, cleaning, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical equipment.
2. Operating and maintaining sterilization equipment such as autoclaves.
3. Ensuring that all sterilization processes are carried out according to established protocols and guidelines.
4. Keeping accurate records of all sterilization activities and equipment maintenance.
5. Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure that all sterile processing activities meet the needs of patients and healthcare providers.
6. Following infection control protocols and maintaining a clean and safe work environment in the sterile processing department.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Certification in Sterile Processing Technology (CBSPD or IAHCSMM) preferred.
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing in a healthcare setting.
4. Knowledge of AAMI and AORN standards for sterile processing.
5. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
