Job Summary:
A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides administrative and clinical support to healthcare professionals, ensuring the efficient operation of medical facilities and the well-being of patients. CMAs are responsible for assisting with patient exams, taking vital signs, maintaining medical records, and performing various administrative tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient exams and procedures
- Take and record patients' vital signs
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Perform basic medical procedures, such as dressing changes and wound care
- Maintain and update patients' medical records
- Schedule appointments and coordinate medical referrals
- Handle phone calls, emails, and other communication from patients and healthcare providers
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of medical facilities
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and protocols in the healthcare industry
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures
- Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic health records systems
