Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) OR Circulating Nurse plays a crucial role in the operating room by providing patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. This role requires excellent communication, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the surgical team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing and monitoring patients before, during, and after surgery
2. Collaborating with the surgical team to create a safe and effective surgical environment
3. Administering medications and anesthesia as required
4. Assisting with positioning and prepping patients for surgery
5. Monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in patient condition
6. Providing emotional support to patients and their families
7. Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
8. Ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and regulations
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. BLS and ACLS certification
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the operating room
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work effectively under pressure
6. Attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
