Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room (OR)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room (OR), you will be responsible for providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members to ensure a safe and effective surgical experience for patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing patients before surgery and ensuring they are prepared for the procedure.
2. Assisting with the positioning of patients on the operating table.
3. Monitoring patients during surgery and responding to any changes in their condition.
4. Administering medications and IV fluids as needed.
5. Assisting the surgical team with sterile techniques and procedures.
6. Providing post-operative care and monitoring patients for any complications.
7. Educating patients and their families on post-operative care.
8. Documenting all aspects of patient care and maintaining accurate medical records.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certifications.
3. Prior experience in the Operating Room (OR) setting preferred.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
6. Knowledge of surgical procedures and equipment.
7. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
