Job Title: Administrative Patient Access Representative

Job Summary:

The Administrative Patient Access Representative is responsible for assisting patients with the intake process, ensuring accurate and complete registration information, verifying insurance coverage, and collecting payments. They will also schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.

2. Collect and input patient information accurately into the electronic medical records system.

3. Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for services.

4. Collect co-pays and outstanding balances from patients.

5. Schedule appointments and follow up with patients as needed.

6. Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients and providers.

7. Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

8. Assist in the coordination of patient referrals and transfers.

9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless patient experience.

10. Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.

2. Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

4. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

5. Proficiency in computer software programs, including Microsoft Office.

6. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

7. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.

8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

9. Customer service-oriented with a positive attitude.

10. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
