Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Job Summary: The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is responsible for providing high quality patient care to patients with complex medical conditions. They assess patient health, administer medication, monitor vital signs, collaborate with healthcare team members, and educate patients and families on treatment and care plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess patient health status and develop individualized care plans.
2. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
3. Monitor and document patient vital signs and progress.
4. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care.
5. Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques.
6. Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
8. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
9. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate patient care.
10. Continuously evaluate patient response to treatment and adjust care plans as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certification.
3. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
4. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting.
5. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
7. Ability to work well in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
8. Knowledge of electronic medical record systems.
9. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
