Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Behavioral Health
Job Summary:
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) specializing in Behavioral Health is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care in a mental health or substance abuse treatment facility. They work under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare provider
2. Monitor and assess patients for changes in mental status or behavior
3. Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement treatment plans
5. Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families
6. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care
7. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment meetings and case conferences
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current LVN/LPN license in good standing
2. Minimum of 1 year experience in behavioral health setting preferred
3. BLS certification
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work effectively in a team environment
6. Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and treatment modalities
7. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
