Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Med/Surg
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Med/Surg is responsible for providing direct patient care on a medical-surgical unit. They assess patient conditions, administer medications, collaborate with healthcare team members, and educate patients and families on treatment plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Conduct initial patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
2. Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
3. Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans
4. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide holistic patient care
5. Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment options, and self-care techniques
6. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
7. Respond to emergencies and provide immediate intervention as needed
8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinical best practices
9. Ensure patient safety and comfort at all times
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical setting
4. BLS and ACLS certification
5. Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
8. Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care
9. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
