Job Title: Sleep Technologist Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
Job Summary:
The Sleep Technologist RPSGT is responsible for conducting overnight sleep studies under the direction of a physician to diagnose and treat sleep disorders. They monitor patients during sleep studies using various equipment to collect data and analyze sleep patterns.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Set up and calibrate polysomnography equipment before sleep studies
2. Monitor patients during sleep studies to ensure accurate data collection
3. Document observations, study results, and any issues during sleep studies
4. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions during sleep studies
5. Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans for sleep disorders
6. Educate patients on sleep hygiene and assist with treatment adherence
7. Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient data and testing results
8. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in sleep medicine
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification required
2. Associate's degree in Sleep Technology or related field
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in conducting sleep studies
4. Strong understanding of sleep disorders and treatment options
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Detail-oriented and organized
8. Proficient in using polysomnography equipment and data analysis software
