Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Long Term Care (LTC) is responsible for providing compassionate and quality nursing care to residents in a long-term care facility. They collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the physical, emotional, and social needs of residents are met.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing and monitoring residents' health status
2. Developing and implementing care plans
3. Administering medications and treatments
4. Providing wound care and other nursing interventions
5. Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals
6. Educating residents and their families about care routines
7. Documenting patient care activities
8. Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents
9. Responding to emergencies and providing crisis intervention
10. Promoting resident independence and quality of life
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current RN license in the state of practice
2. Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing preferred
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Ability to provide compassionate care to residents with diverse needs
5. Proficiency in electronic health record systems
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Basic life support (BLS) certification
8. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
9. Knowledge of regulations and guidelines governing long-term care facilities
10. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
