Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room (OR)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room (OR) performs various nursing duties in the operating room to ensure patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes. They provide direct patient care, assist surgeons during procedures, and coordinate with other healthcare team members to facilitate a smooth surgical process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assess and monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
2. Assist surgeons with surgical procedures by passing instruments and providing other necessary support.
3. Administer medications and anesthesia as needed.
4. Maintain a sterile field and ensure proper infection control protocols are followed.
5. Educate patients and families on post-operative care instructions.
6. Document patient information and care provided accurately.
7. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
3. Certification in operating room nursing (CNOR) is a plus.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
6. Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
7. Prior experience in the operating room setting is preferred.
