Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Long Term Care (LTC)

Job Summary:

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Long Term Care (LTC) provides direct patient care and assists residents with activities of daily living in a long-term care facility. They work under the supervision of licensed nurses to ensure the comfort and well-being of residents.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.

2. Take and record vital signs.

3. Assist residents with mobility and transfers.

4. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.

5. Help maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.

6. Follow care plans and communicate any changes in residents' condition to the nursing team.

7. Participate in resident care conferences and meetings.

8. Document all care provided accurately and timely.

9. Adhere to facility policies and procedures.

10. Ensure residents' privacy and dignity are maintained at all times.

11. Assist with recreational activities and social events for residents.

12. Provide end-of-life care and support to residents and their families.

13. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care for residents.

14. Attend in-service training and continuing education programs.

15. Maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards in all interactions with residents and families.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. High school diploma or GED.

2. Completion of an accredited CNA training program.

3. Current CNA certification in the state of employment.

4. CPR certification.

5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Compassionate and empathetic attitude.

7. Ability to work well in a team environment.

8. Physical stamina and strength to lift and move residents.

9. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

10. Problem-solving skills and ability to handle stressful situations.

11. Knowledge of infection control protocols.

12. Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.

13. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

14. Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.

15. Commitment to providing high-quality care to elderly and disabled residents.
