Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Pediatrics, Oncology
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Pediatrics, Oncology will provide specialized care to pediatric patients diagnosed with cancer. They will work closely with the pediatric oncology team to develop and implement treatment plans, monitor patients' progress, and provide emotional support to families. The RN will also administer chemotherapy and other medications, and educate patients and families about their condition and treatment options.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for pediatric oncology patients
- Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed
- Monitor patients' vital signs and physical condition
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Provide emotional support to patients and families
- Educate patients and families about cancer diagnosis, treatment options, and side effects
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid RN license in the state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Certification in Pediatric Oncology Nursing (CPON) preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pediatric oncology nursing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
