Job title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients who are acutely ill with a variety of medical conditions. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform comprehensive nursing assessments on patients in the PCU
2. Develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient
3. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
4. Monitor and assess patient vital signs and symptoms
5. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
6. Provide education and support to patients and their families
7. Document patient care in electronic medical records accurately and timely
8. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to best practices in nursing care
9. Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff
10. Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in acute care nursing, preferably in a progressive care or telemetry unit
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and basic computer skills
