Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Room (ER) provides care for patients in emergency situations, assessing their condition and providing the necessary medical intervention to stabilize and treat them. They work under pressure and handle high-stress situations with professionalism and expertise. The RN ER collaborates with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcome for patients in critical condition.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assessing patients in the emergency room and triaging them based on their condition.
2. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
3. Monitoring patient vital signs and responding to changes in condition.
4. Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
5. Providing emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families during times of crisis.
6. Documenting patient care and maintaining accurate medical records.
7. Performing emergency procedures as needed, such as CPR or intubation.
8. Participating in continuous education and training to stay current on the latest advancements in emergency medicine.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS and ACLS certification.
3. At least 2 years of experience in emergency room nursing.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions.
6. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
7. Knowledge of emergency medical procedures and protocols.
8. Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
