Job Title: CNA Long Term Care (LTC)
Job Summary:
As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Long Term Care (LTC), you will be responsible for providing quality care to residents in a long-term care facility. You will work under the supervision of licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and registered nurses (RNs) to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of residents.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature.
3. Help residents with mobility, including assisting with transferring and repositioning.
4. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
5. Assist with feeding residents who require help with meals.
6. Follow care plans and communicate any changes in residents' conditions to the nursing staff.
7. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
8. Adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
9. Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure residents receive comprehensive care.
10. Participate in continuing education to stay current on best practices in long-term care.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA).
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Compassion and empathy for elderly and disabled individuals.
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
6. Physical stamina to assist residents with moving and transferring.
7. Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures.
8. Ability to handle stressful situations with patience and professionalism.
9. Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
10. Experience working in a long-term care facility is preferred.
