Job Summary: The Certified Surgical Tech (CST) Operating Room (OR) plays a crucial role in assisting surgeons during surgical procedures and ensuring the operating room is properly equipped and ready for surgery. They are responsible for preparing patients for surgery, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare operating room for surgical procedures
2. Assist surgeons during procedures by handing them instruments and supplies
3. Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
4. Ensure a safe and sterile environment in the operating room
5. Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting incision sites
6. Monitor and maintain patient vital signs during surgery
7. Assist with patient positioning and transportation
8. Provide post-operative care to patients as needed
9. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification
2. High school diploma or equivalent
3. Previous experience working in an operating room setting
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work well as part of a team
7. Knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
8. CPR certification
9. Ability to lift and move heavy objects
10. Strong organizational skills
