Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is responsible for providing quality patient care in the recovery room following anesthesia procedures. The RN will monitor patients post-surgery, assess their condition, and provide appropriate interventions as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Monitor patients post-anesthesia for signs of complications or adverse reactions.
2. Assess patient's pain levels and administer appropriate pain management interventions.
3. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of care provided.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare team members to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
5. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care instructions.
6. Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
7. Assist with patient admissions and discharges from the PACU.
8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Valid RN license in the state of practice.
2. BLS certification required, ACLS certification preferred.
3. 2+ years of experience in PACU or critical care setting.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions.
6. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
